Out of every 10 people, 4 are overweight with age greater than 18 years as per report of World Health Organisation. There are so many problems you face when you are overweight. It is very important to stay fit to have a long and healthy life. We all desire to lose weight but very few actually take it seriously. If you are one of them here are few things which you could do–
Choose Low Carb Diet - If you want to reduce weight based on your diet then you have to make sure intake of food with sugar and starch is very minimum in your diet. The main advantage of the low carb diet is that they cause you to want to eat less. It might even increase your fat burning at rest.
Start Small - When you began your journey of losing weight, don't put extra pressure on yourself with 10km jogging plan or very strict diet for weight loss. To begin, just try to wake up early in the morning and sleep early in the night and go for small walks in morning and before you go to sleep at night and follow the other basic points as below.

Eat only when hungry - You have to eat only when you are hungry and if you are not hungry – Don’t eat simply. If you can skip any of your meal, do it without any thoughts. There is no harm in skipping meal here and there. Have your meal when hungry and wait for the hunger to return before you eat again. This will save both your time and money, while speeding up your weight loss.
Look For Inspirations - You already have motivation to lose weight but most of the time motivation alone is not sufficient. You need to have some inspiration also to get things going. Your inspiration may not be a body builder or your favourite sportsperson but could be anyone around you - who is fit and could inspire you to be like him.
Track your progress - Your whole focus maybe on losing weight but at the same time measuring your progress is also very important. You may have to see the overall progress not just any particular part of your body. Other important point is you should not track your progress daily as it can be demotivating. Monitor on weekly basis or every fortnight and as per results make your next action plan.
Nothing happens overnight - If you are expecting results very quickly you will only get frustrated. If you are over weighted then it may take years of workout and dieting to bring you in shape. Never lose hope and just continue following your plans. Results will come eventually. Usually you lose 1-3 kgs within the first week on a strict low carb diet and then average of half a kg per week. If you are somewhere close to these numbers you are doing well.
Double S - You have to make sure you stress less and sleep more. Chronic stress may increase levels of stress hormones such as cortisol in your body which in turn can result in increased hunger and subsequent weight gain. You should also make an effort to get enough good sleep as sleep deprivation comes along with sugar carving and hence more weight.
Exercise smart - You may be wondering why this point is at bottom of this list but the reality is taking stairs instead of the elevators or walking for few minutes will take you nowhere in your weight lose journey. Studies show that if you just start exercising, you’re going to need at least one hour of tough workouts every single day to noticeably lose weight. But does that mean normal exercise will have no impact? No. So if you have taken care of all the above point, the good news for you is that exercise will accelerate your weight loss, and act as a nice bonus.
Do share your personal experiences or experiences of people around you who have lost significant weight and could be inspiration to thousand others.
